Your post workout meal is one of the most important meals of the day. You body is starving for nutrients after being beat up in the gym. So by consuming both protein and a simple carb post workout, you are driving amino acids into your muscles starting the process of protein synthesis (building new muscle tissue).

Good: White Bread Or Bagel
Ok: Fruit-Although made of simple sugars, fruit contains frutose. Thesesugars take a little longer to be broken down in your stomach.
